Hi! I've just rented a new house.. it has a small backyard .. almost nothing there .. just a piece of land (soil) and a walk way through it .. I would like to arrange it in a way that it looks nice .. but dont want to spend much .. any simple ideas or related website?
Then I live in southern England, near oxford, is it the time now to plant any flowers or something or i better wait ?

now would be a good time to prepare the ground, you could start by making a boarder around the edge, say about 18inches in width I don't know how long your tenancy is for, don't buy any bulbs, as you are to late for them now, roses would be good, clematis as well, hosters in the shaded parts,buy bedding plants towards the end of the month, primrose is OK now, now is the time to be looking at seeds follow instructions on packet, enjoy your garden
Reply:start with arranging potted plants , use them as borders along your pathway. You can get a feel of if you like the arrangement in potted plants , before you start digging up the ground. Go to antique shops and find unusual and interesting objects to decorate your area. don't try and do it all at once, hurried projects are not the best, a piece at a time gets your imagination flowing.
