Difficult one here - but I am trying to find wine glasses for hire if possible, around 60 cm tall, in order to arrange flowers for a wedding. Not martini glasses - which are available - but wine glasses. My daughter's theme for her wedding is 'Wine and Roses', thus we need the tall 'wine' glasses. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance. I am in UK, so if you are somewhere else, thanks, but it will not be helpful. Take care all who read this. xx
60 cm+ tall wine glasses?
You won't find wine glasses but you will find vases shaped like champagne flutes. Try googling "stemmed vases".
Sounds like a lovely idea, good luck and Bless the Bride!
Reply:I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I doubt you'll find wine glasses that tall. A wine glass of that length will be very unstable and therefore not advisable for a glass maker/blower to manufacture.
I suggest to use big size used champagne bottles, anything bigger than a Magnum or a Jeroboam. A glazier could cut the neck to make for a bigger opening at the top and be able to stick the flowers with not trouble.
Reply:Maybe head to a craft store like Michaels and see if they have something in a similar shape that you can use.
That's not a realistic wine glass size for consumption, so either a craft or a flower store may have something.
I found something similar to wht you are looking for, but they are spendy. $150 per glass: http://www.greatbigstuff.com/wineglass.h...
They can ship to the UK.
Reply:23 inches is a bit tall for a wine glass, its even taller than a wine bottle are you sure you have your measurements right?
